the thing is, angels exist.
the thing is, mankind resists
the doubt is, your life has a cyst
the hook is, the love of a kiss

the heart is, the house and the home
my home was, burned down, long ago
the hope is, a new one will grow
the thing is, your tools work too slow

if you ripped out my heart and placed it on the mantle,
and your forever searching eyes saw my home was never there,
you'd know my heart was some other place,
on another ship set sail far from the human race,
and your home would burn down as well.

the thing is, I walked on the moon
the doubt is, a hollywood room
the song is, a different tune
the hook is, i never left you

the life is, my heart before yours
the trick is, trying to perform
the first is, the chance to be reborn
the last is, the heart gets it's reward

if you ripped out my heart and placed it on the mantle,
and your forever searching eyes saw my home was never there,
you'd know my heart was some other place,
on another ship set sail far from the human race,
and your home would burn down as well.

the truth is, i sold my soul
the lie is, you cant buy it whole
the worst is, my heart has a hole
the best is, my heart as a whole

if you ripped out my heart and placed it on the mantle,
and your forever searching eyes saw my home was never there,
you'd know my heart was some other place,
on another ship set sail far from the human race,
and your home would burn down as well.

and when that ship lands on some deserted island,
and you somehow found it but learned my hearts not there,
you'll realize my heart was never out of reach,
but right where you left it on the mantle with your keys,
then your heart will melt in my hands.

verse is in 9/8 time, the chorus is in 6/8
it's an acoustic indie/folk thing

C4C of course
Speak the truth and speak 'ever
Cost it what it will
For he who hide the wrong he did
Did the wrong thing still

I liked the repetition in the verses. It made it much more memorable. I also enjoyed the "but right where you left it on the mantle with your keys" line. It made it seem like the person did it casually, like it were part of a daily routine or something; like it didn't even matter.

The rhyme scheme was nice as well

I agree with everything this guy says and must say it will sound great in that time signature, its really interesting that way.

But you only die once, so you may as well experience it to the fullest.

Plus, naturally I scream satanic rituals while unleashing the demon. It's a marvelous resurrection.
