Hey guys, quick ?

It takes me along time to learn a little simple section for some reason, but When i learn it I can play it very well...

(Section being 4-8 bars i guess...)

How long it take you to learn it? (not PLAY IT, but learn how to do it)

like an hr or 2??

i learned this one A major arpeggio where i tapped the tonic notes today (i don't know much theory, but it sounds good) and in order to do it right took me about 1 hour. Still dont have it as fast as i want it to be though...

ya dude, depends on the complexity of the rift/song/passage you are learning

AC/DC = like 10 minutes.15 to tempo and playing along w/song

Kalmah = like half an hr just to get it slightly right

Well if it's rhythm sections i can pick up a 4-8 bar piece in a couple of minutes, but then if we look on the lead end of things I can take nearly forever lol, if you've heard "Trail of Tears" by testament check the solos out in that song, they're some of my favorites and while I only try them out maybe once a week at best i've been working on them for months :/

depends on how hard but what i love to do is just find a good song on guitar pro that i know and just hit play and play along as it goes i play along like five times and ill have majority of it down. Its kind of like playing guitar hero with more notes and no crowd cheering you on.

If im looking at tab, depending on how fast its supposed to be played, and how familiar I am with the song, from 2 minutes to 2 hours.

If im figuring it out by ear, it takes tons longer.

It takes me about 10 minutes to memorize a section of the song, and then i just play it until it is perfect.

A couple minutes, even with most death metal level stuff

When I'm playing techdeth stuff, it takes longer, maybe 10 minutes or so, sometimes there's two guitars doing a bunch of counterpoint stuff so it adds to the complexity of things. If its something else, a couple of minutes, max. That's it.
