Hi,
I'm looking for a new guitar.
My budget is about 700eu max.
I would like a full and thick sound (I now own a tele so I would like an absolute oposite of the tele sound.)
A guitar I really like is a gibson lp custom, but they cost way to much, but it got me thinking, why not a pre-lawsuit burny ,orville or tokai? What would you think about that?
I'm really open to all brands, and the rest of my set-up works perfect for me.
Sounds I really like: tool, isis (!), cult of luna, baroness and intronaut.
I would play the guitar mostly in drop C or drop B
And I'm surely willing to go used.

cheers

I don't know how much Euro=USD So im going to say, what kind of music do you play, what amp are you running it through, and that im thinking of an ESP-LTDec1000 deluxe. Check into it, it would be nice to know the type of music you play.

Hope this helped.

I play (like the bands I posted) sludge, post-rock, post-metal, experimental stuff.
An EMG guitar is really not what I'm looking for.
I play a hughes and kettner tube 50 into an original greenback cab.
I mostly use trippy fx.

Godin LG90 is good for full thick sounds i dont know whether you could find one in Belguim though. Definately worth looking anyway.

How about a Tele with two humbuckers that can do any genre and any tuning, and NO twang?

I think an ESP Eclipse would be a good choice for you. The EC-1000 is pretty good, and so is the EC-401. The first one comes with EMG pickups exclusively and the second one is available with EMG pickups and Seyomour Duncans.

that's a damn good idea

Do you think you'll go for it then?
I know a guitarist from Paramore uses one tuned to C#, and it sounds heavy enough.

Well, I'm now looking for one used, but they ain't easy to find, I'm also kind of leaning towards ibanez.

^I got mine for under £600, but it seems a bit more expensive in European shops.

Which Ibanez are you looking at?
I always recommend the S series, or if you want no trem, look at the ART series

what about a Epiphone Les Paul?
there are a ton of different models that all fall in your price range.
I was pretty certain i was going to get a Epi LP, but now after looking at the humbucker Tele.. god i'm perplexed. why'd i have to open the thread?
i have a strat also, and am looking for that opposite, rich, deep, warm, no twang sound..

there are too many les paul alternatives to even considering getting an epiphone lp, except for epi LP custom. swap out the p.o.s. stock pickups for something nice and hot, and you have yourself a nice alternative to gibson lp custom.
It's all about feel

p.s. try fernandes

these things come with a duncan JB and fernandes custom pickup in the neck for $1000 USD
