I'm an American, but I've come to the conclusion that I have a decidedly British sense of humor. Examples of what I like are Monty Python, Blackadder, Mr. Bean, The Office, Extras, and for stand-up, Bill Bailey. Hell, I even get my news from BBC, not CNN. So what else do you suggest?
#2
Black Books motherfucker! Also, That Mitchell And Webb Look, The Fast Show and Peep Show. Check out Ross Noble and Eddie Izzard for stand-up too.

Have you read The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy Trilogy (Of Five)?

How about watching Fawlty Towers?

i suggest you stay out of croydon, and never attempt a british accent. its the worst thing americans ever do. they allways sound either posh or gay. most brits speak the most guttural form of english youll ever know, and our accents very over 100 miles more than yanks do in from one the east coast to west. examples. listen to a Birmingham accent and a London accent. then try a british accent. u will fail amazingly.

Let's make a deal. Never attempt a "southern" United States accent and I'll never try a British accent.

And lets not forget Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

Darkplace! I remember seeing that show somewhere along time ago and I thought it was hilarious but I could never remember the name. Thank you!

Don't worry Mamosa, I'm not a traitor. I still listen to Country music, talk about liberty a lot, watch the American version of the Office, and I'm in love with an American girl.

I'm not British, but I love British comedy.

A Bit of Fry and Laurie
, Black Books, Father Ted, Red Dwarf's first two seasons, Peep Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Coupling, Garth Merenghi's Darkplace, QI, The IT Crowd, 15 Storeys High and Spaced.

And for standups, Sean Lock (fairly similar to Bill Bailey), Dylan Moran, Dara O'Briain and Lee Mack.

I suggest not basing things on stereotypes. Even if you go to London, you may get a shock.

Or a knife wound. One of the two.
