And I mean all processes, not just a few.

Because for some reason, one of my cores is using up 100% for a large chunk of time even when only surfing/listening to music.
Help?

No viruses, laptop arrived yesterday. No malware either.

Ctrl+shift+esc

It opens windows task manger which tells you how much RAM something uses and how much CPU power is currently being used.

Like I said, task manager displays only a few processes.
Any other alternatives?

Assuming you're on Windows, the task manager does that...

^No, the task manager should be displaying everything that is running, even viruses/malware.

If you have Widows Vista theres a little widget that tells you how much cpu you're using in sort of a speedometer guage format on the side bar.

He'd be best using task manager because the widget uses CPU.

But a widget would use more and it would be less accurate. I meant to say that a widget would use more than Task Manager.
