Hey guys
Could I run a small 5w tube head (epiphone valve junior etc.) through the LINE IN on my solid state amp? The line in completely bypasses the amplifier and goes straight through to the speaker.
So basically I'm asking if I could use my amp as a cab.
If I could do this, would I use the headphone out on the head or the speaker out on the head?

Thanks, Tim.
Tim.

what SS is it? if its a crap speaker ('custom designed' to any extent) you may aswell just get a decent cab.

Epiphone Hummingbird
Epiphone Futura Custom Prophecy (Twin EMG)
Vox Valvetronix VT20+
Vox Wah
Boss MD-2
Danelectro Cool Cat Drive

They're just 16ohm 12" "Double Barrel" speakers.
Stock.

The line in bypasses the PREAMP. NOT the POWERAMP. Im not 100% sure what would happen, but it would not be good. Even if the impedance levels match.

i would not recommend this for many reasons. worse case scenario is blowing the SS amp out, and damaging the trnsformer or power tubes on the 5w amp. you need a cab
