I have a jt-220 lp copy, stock pups since it's only my second guitar, and I noticed, it's squeals like no other when I move my hand infront of a pup. And I plan on getting a new ht-5 halfstack next month, then save for a prs se 24, so I guess inbetwee the new amp and new guitar, I should probably upgrade my pups in my lp so they stop squealing. What kind of cheap humbuckers can I get for hard rock, classic rock, blues, playing?

Oh yeah I played the prs through the ht5 and it was pure sex. It was the sound you hear in your head. How much do those pups cost and are they usually available at guitarcenter?

First off, find out why the current ones are squealing. Not much point putting new pups in a guitar that may have a wiring fault. Or are you standing close up against your amp?
Sort out if there's a wiring problem, then look at IronGear Hot Slag or Rolling Mill sets.

I don't normally sit too close, but when I turn up my amp(its only 25w, that why I'm concerned with how bad it will squeal with the new amp) it squels when I don't play a note, and it's not feedback, even if I mute the strings at over 1/4 volume. It only happens with this guitar.

Your cheap pickups are probably not well potted and slightly microphonic.
Stew Mac has some decent inexpensive HBs on their website. EMG HZ (non-active) and some others where you could replace both for about $100.00 which is approx half what you'd pay forhigher end PUs.
Moving on.....

Don't waste your money on passive emgs for 100 bucks. If your looking for a cheap pickup, try some gfs pickups.

IDEA. Why not upgrade from the prs stock pickups, then when I get my prs, switch the aftermarket pickups and zebra pickups then put the zebra pickups into my lp? Please respond quick I got homecoming in like 2 hours.
