5x-9=x+3

4x-9=3

4x=12

x=3.

its harder than it looks, because the bracket multiplies out to a quadratic, so there are two answers. needless to say, i'm not doing it.

There's no quadratics here either, its 2x + 3 ( x - 3) , not (2x + 3) ( x - 3 )

No... that would only be correct if the 2x and 3 were in brackets together.

I got
