So, yeah, I'm looking for a new guitar. I want a Les paul, Gibson or Epiphone. (preferably Epiphone, Good gibsons in Australia are out of my price range). I don't want to spend more than $1500 aud. That's about $1300 usd.

I like playing lots of stuff from Slash and his kind of style/genre

I'm playing through a Vox ad30vt. I've also got a pocket pod

What do you guys sugest?

Thanks, Smile.

Edit: Btw, I was going to buy an Epi Slash signature, but the guitar stores in my area said that there all gone, one suggested i have a look at the Epi prophecy les paul ex.

I wouldn't recommend an Epiphone, especially their more expensive guitars. Epiphone electronics frequently break down. I've had my G-400's pickup selector getting a bit shoddy. Another guy on the forum had a similar problem except it died completely. There's also an EPi les paul SPECIAL II (may explain why) at my school which has a broken pup selector.

EDIT: TS, maybe you want a new amp? What is your guitar right now?
Fender 1996 Floyd Rose Standard Stratocaster
Epiphone SG G-400

Laney TT50-112

Ibanez Weeping Demon
Marshall RG-1 Regenerator
Electro-Harmonix/Sovtek (Black) Big Muff Pi

I'm fine with what amp i've got atm. Right now i've just got a Fender standard mexican strat, i use it to play lots of clean stuff. I love the red hot chilli peppers ;D

I'd really like a les paul tho

Well, just to name a few quality Les Pauls:

ESP Eclipse http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_eclipse.html

ESP EC series http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_ec.html

If you play lots of clean stuff, you may not want to get one of the EMG-equipped versions. The ones with Seymour DUncans would be fine for you. Also stay away from the ones with ESP-branded pickups..

Look at http://www.tcellisguitars.com/design_build.html then ask him about shipping to Australia. For about the price of a top end Epi this has to be a consideration.
I pick up my guitar and play
