How do I achieve this effect? I already have Distortion for my Bass (not BIG MUFF Distortion but it does the job) I just need to know the Specs, Because it often sounds to dry etc.

If it helps I do Have Line6 Gearbox with a UX1, I also have a Behringer BOD100 (Will Upgrade as soon as I get my next Bass)

Any Advice welcome

chris uses a russian big muff and bi-amping. i think he uses a akai deep impact synth pedal aswell and probably some form of octaving - not sure how that can help you unless you have bucket loads of money to throw around. which song/s are you looking for the tone of?

EDIT: there was a BPoTM for chris a while ago, https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=997808

There's no point in trying to recreate his tone. His rig is so vast your budget would have to be in the realms of about £20,000+. He uses several different fuzzes/synths (Boss ODB-3 on occasion, Big Muff, Akai Deep Impact, and others) and regularly uses more than one at the same time. Your best bet is to get a EHX Bass Big Muff (you won't lose as much low end with it as the normal Big Muff) and tweek the settings till you're happy.

I dont think you understood the question, I was looking for the specs of his pedals (eg Gain, Balance etc)

i doubt that would be published anywhere tbh, it seems more of a personal thing. just play around with your settings until you are happy.

What is a good synth to buy to try to get his Hysteria, Time Is Running Out and especially Plug In Baby tones? I know he uses an Akai Deep Impact but that's really rare and like $500.

Honestly, I got an acceptable tone for Hysteria using a Big Bass Muff and a Digitech Bass Synth Wah. The key to it being better than say one of them or a different combination is that you can have three channels running basically. You also need an ABY pedal (mine is a Morley). You have the Big Bass Muff on "dry", meaning the "wet" output of the BBM is both a fuzz and a clean signal. Then you put the Digitech Synth out from the "dry" out on the BBM. This makes the Digitech get a clean signal running to it so there is no fuzz to mess it up. Then you link the "wet" out on the BBM (a fuzz and clean signal blended together) and the Digitech into the ABY, with the "Y" section running into the amp (or the rest of your chain).

I hope that makes sense.

As for which setting on the Digitech, I used like the fourth one or something with all of the knobs turned all the way down. I don't remember what settings on the BBM, it sounded both good with "low" tone and "high" tone, but for sure sustain up all the way for either. If you have the tone really high, you needto increase the volume of the BBM or you will not hear it with the synth going too.

the Boss Synth might sound better; I've never used it.

However, it is key to his tone, along with octaving and the Human Gear Animato. Seriously, he has a large, complex, expensive rig. Getting anything more than the gist of it is going to be very complex.

Contrary to popular belief, he uses neither a Russian Big Muff or a triangle Muff. He actually uses an obscure Japanese big muff clone called the Human Gear Animato:

Good luck tracking one down. IMO, it wouldn't be worth it. Get a Russian Big muff, or even better, a nice muff clone:

The first one is especially nice. I know one of the members here has one, I can't remember who though

BTW, for the BYOC pedals, you can buy pre constructed ones for a bit extra if you don't want to assemble it yourself
