On the way back from school today, my bus passed by a pawn shop. I saw something that caught my eye in the window. An old looking peavey half stack. Of course im going to call to get a price and check it out after school tomorrow, but for now i figured i would get UG to help me find out what amp it is

It's black and on the bottom of the head, i'm pretty damn sure i saw an aqua or maroon stripe. I couldnt see alot because my bus passed by fast...

So please any help would be apreciated. even if you arent right, just guess

You basically described any amp made between 1970 and 1990. That awful aqua marine color was very overused in that era, and black is always the default. So...

Its not mine, but I own a very similar Laney cab with four 12' Speakers, so im assuming that there 12/14 inch, if thats what your asking?

EDIT: or it could just be a smaller cab

Actually WTF was damn close. Though it was obviously going to be a 70-90s Peavey so I guess it wasn't too hard to get in the ballpark.

I'm just kidding
And thats very true it was madly over used in the 70s.

Ya, I dunno why but all of the sudden around that time, any piece of electronics you could find had to have aqua pin stripes all over it... Weird.

There are REALLY good reviews on harmony central. apparently it's solid state. does that make it worse than a tube amp? im a noob at amps sorry. right now i just use a peavey bandit 112.

there are good slid states brah.
try it out first. $500 for both head and ccab is pretty OK for me

Any more opinions on the price? good, bad, ok? The guy didnt know what the cab model was and they're closed now so i'll need to wait until tomorrow... this thing is supposed to have killer distortion.

EDIT: sorry about the double post

Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade from the Bandit. Do you even know why you want it?

cause it seems like a once in a lifetime offer lol. I wouldnt have to buy a big amp later for gigs, and i have the money now. why not buy it now before i have to start saving for university. also... it looks pro when you bring a half stack to school concerts.
