ok got my amp today.. the clean channel has a static/white noise sound even while guitar is unplugged. and one of the 3 preamp tubes glow is very faint..the other two are bright and look good..

probably just a tube issue huh? only on clean channel.

Could be. Replace the tubes. All of em. If it's not that, then theres a good chance there's a lot of dust and gunk built up in the components of the amp. Best way to take care of that is pay to have a professional clean it.
Yeah, uh-huh...that's what they all say.

replace just the bad one first, if it doesnt fix the problem then replace the others. otherwise, no point in spending money on all the tubes.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

B52 has had some reliability issues. If it's new, I'd just send it back.

yeah, but since the tube is so faint, if its only a tube theres not alot of reason to send it back huh?

isnt it somewhat common for any amp to have a dim/bad tube?

I dont know, im asking..
