I'm here, night after night
I play the songs, you sing along, it makes me smile
I know, I'm different than you think
I see your smile, I catch your eyes, It'd be better than you dream
I can't remember
the last time that I felt so good

I'll play your song for some money in my jar
or if a beer and shot is what you got, that'll be alright
I know, your week it has been long
your sittin there, I'm standin here yeah I'll sing your song
I can't remeber
the last time that it felt so good
to be me
I got that feelin
I believe I'm finally feelin
Its alright

I know, its close to closin time
Another shot a few more songs, we'll all be gone
Last call, and as I look around the room
Familar place, smilin face, time to take it home
I can't remeber
the last time that it felt so good
to be me
I got that feelin
I believe I'm finally feelin
Its alright

"I'll play your song for some money in my jar"

Should the word "some" be left out, would that make it flow a bit better?

i love the lyrics! the look great! i'd like to hear the song. i think that leaving the word "some" or taking it out should depend on the melody you have. sounds good with some though

thank you i appreciate that-working on getting a rough recording of a few songs then try to figure out how to get them uploaded

I am going to put it on a new CD I hope to record after the first of the year- I have a few more songs to finish, revamp and write then just need to find the time to record

I look forward to reading/listening to more of your music

Yeah it has a bit of that Texas/Country feel to it, maybe a bit more folksy. That is hard for an old rocker to admit, but sometimes in life things change.
