like a rose- draining culture
from Rome; poetry on
street corners, a kiss in
the night, sleep tight;
a painting for the restless
--all i ate this year was
poetry for breakfast and
a late night smile- but how
to read when the walls do
not fall - girls in red
dresses; i recall years of
refusal, hearts of stone;
set fire to yr house--
call it yr home; sparrows
fall- eyes along the skyline;
a great leap forward in the
landscape. i've been told to
sin by a thousand broken
hearts; recorded tears on
vinyl with smashed guitars-
fried my amplifier; made
new friends; kerouac's
goodbye- ezra pound never
heard of, stella vine just
died; a new environment;
pills, new school; a shrink
to keep Ellenor alive- but
did yossarian survive?

It's comical because you are clearly an average to below-average bear.

I love the language, and the overall tone. The ending was nice, tying all the different writers together.

I completely lost the flow of this in the last eight lines, and I think part of the problem might have been the amount of name dropping you did in that small space.

Regardless it's nice to read from you Joris.

Hope you're doing well.

man I really loved reading this. The language is beautiful. There's a lot going on but it seems calm which I really liked. You're still one of my favorite writers, easily. Glad to see you post.

i have an idea what it's about but like always it's going to be totally wrong

but this time i'm not going to make you explain it to me because i love what i think i've read

it's about me.

Thanks everyone, especially those who remember me

you've always been best (IMHO) at writing ars poetic poetry (as in, poetry about poetry or poetry that is aware of poetry). this was no exception. kudos for the form and line breaks as well.

very nice to read you here again Joris

hope you're doing well.

i'm okay, thanks Dylan. it's not really about poetry though, more about me than anything else. but i guess i can see why you'd think that. thanks
