When should they be done? In standby mode or when the amp is on? I know my 6505 has a narrow sweep adjustment, so I'd like to max it if i can.

Max may not be the best setting. To hot and you will go thru tubes alot faster. Best to set it to the proper specs for the tubes you buy.

The 6505+ is naturally biased cold, and from what I've read, the Bias adjustment pot can't go hot enough to remove the crossover distortion, but I'd like to get it as close as possible for the time being.

Unless your 6505+ is bias modded...i didnt think it could be adjusted....
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

The 6505+ has a bias adjustment pot. The 6505 doesn't.
