Lawsuit; http://www.hbsslaw.com/guitarcenter

Not sure how this'll go, but it'll be interesting to watch, especially if they win and we are to get some sort of compensation.

I don't really care.

I haggled the **** out of the salesperson when I bought my guitar.

yeah but you could have haggled the same amount but starting from a lower point.

you think the employees are told the prices are fixed highly, so they can afford to knock some money off?

I think some of the members here are GC employees. Ask one of them.

I always just thought that Fender and Gibson just didn't give a shit about Mom and Pop stores, i hadn't thought of it as criminal.

Maybe Matt Damon was working for them.

I'm pretty sure all classical instruments have colored strings on the end. My cello does.

Im so confused. Seriously, can anyone make a one sentence statement of what the hell those articles actually meant?

The cunts at HBSS think NAMM and GC are planning on dropping the prices tremendously.

This is the most lawsuit in history. This is even more disgusting than the Gibson vs. Guitar Hero lawsuit.

But Neccy wins once again for finding the important first.

Holy ****, 30 percent margins? That's just incredible (margin is the difference between the price the guitar is bought by GC and the price they sell it as retail).

Imagine them buying a guitar for $700 and selling it for $1,000, because apparently that's how they do it.

Actually, I think you misinterpreted it. GC and Namm allegedly got together with distributors and other retailers to fix the prices at a high rate. The article said they had a steady 30 percent margin. As I said earlier, that means that if they sell a guitar for a thousand dollars, they probably paid only seven hundred. Margin isn't the same as profit, but to have everything at a 30 percent margin is pretty incredible. Almost too incredible.
