Hey guys! Just wanted to show of the new guitar. I have been waiting for 7 years to get this thing and it will finally be here on Tuesday. My brother made it for me and it is completely one of a kind. It has our name on the headstock. I drew it and he made it. It's shape is based off my old Ibanez Artist, but the scroll and semi-hollow design is ours.... I haven't even touched it since it has had strings on it. He moved to Washington state and i am in Tennessee. Let me know what you guys think!

The tail piece, upper horn, no inlays, and wood are all amazing. You really designed a winner and your brother was able to deliver.

The scroll reminds me of LEs Claypools bass scroll, just a little smaller.

That is one sweet guitar you got there.

Thanks to you all! I will let you know more when UPS has it to the house!

As far as specs and whatnot-

The woods are as follows:
Top- flamed Koa
Body- Walnut
Neck- Bird's eye maple/purple heart
Back- curly/crotched mahogany
neck- ebony
He also made the tailpiece and knobs out of blocks of mahogany.
Everything but the obvious things are made from his hands.

The body is semi-hollow with decently big chambers. Hoping for a deep deep sound. For that reason i chose Bartonlini pickups. Oh! and everything is nickel plated to give a vintage touch. Grover tuners and a Schaller bridge. He has put a lot of work into it, and I am SUPER pumped to see and more importantly hear the thing!

oh- How do you get a bigger pic in here without having the limits on size?

Hi All, this is Jeremy's brother, the builder.

That would be Carl Thompson. I normally build basses (for myself), and he's one of my biggest influences. The scroll was a nod to CT, but was more directly referencing the instruments, particularly the F-5 mandolins, built in NE Tennessee, our home area.

To elaborate:
The woods are as follows:
Top- flamed Koa
Body- Mahogany
Neck- Bird's eye maple/purple heart/Mahogany (reclaimed from a pipe organ built in 1904)
Back- curly/crotched mahogany Claro Walnut
neckfingerboard- macassar ebony
He also made the tailpiece and knobs out of blocks of mahogany macassar ebony.

The scale length is 25" with a 12" radius.

There are more hi-res photos and some in-progress shots posted
here. Jeremy has only seen the two he posted so far, and the guitar doesn't get to him for another 4 days.

Oh god! I can't handle it!

Thanks to my brother for the clarification! It HAS been a while.... haha

I am really loosing sleep here! I will be Sure to follow up on the sound of the guitar plugged in, but how can a guitar look this good and not sound good? My bro says it sounds good, and I like to think that the both of us have a pretty good ear for sound. Thanks to Dad!

Seven years?!? That's crazy. Was the guitar builder that's backlogged or did it just take that long to save up the money?

Either way, awesome guitar.
