I'm a huge fan of both Pearl Jam and Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam, so you can imagine my excitement when I found this cover version of Neil Young's classic 'Cortez the Killer' by Mike McCready and Davy Knowles....

I challenge you to watch this and not be impressed!

Covers are generally very boring imo unless you play them yourself. I don't like recorded covers. Play them live for fun but once you've recorded a cover without doing your own version of it, you've just failed imo.
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

Not a Rock cover, but here's Jacques Loussier playing a Jazz rendition of Bach's Tocotta And Fugue.

If you like that, he did albums' worth of Bach covers.

Some of Motley Crue's covers aren't too bad. I like Cannibal Corpse's cover of Zero the Hero.

A lot of stuff of the Metallica's Garage Inc. album. IMO, James' voice was at his best on this album.

I actually love rocked-out versions of old 1950's tunes.

This is cool, but it cant even touch the original. It really lacks the dynamics and haunting vibe of BOC's version. Plus Eric Bloom is a much better vocalist IMO.
