These guys just released their first full length, Ignorance Never Dies, it really is something special. They are making a name for themselves in the UK scene. Probably my favourite band at the moment, digging the album so much.

Plus they are supporting Misery Signals w/The Number Twelve Looks Like You - so looking forward to that tour!

Yeah, they are awesome! Possibly seeing them twice during the next 30-40 days. Once with Raised Fist and the second with TDWP (I like both, but still, wtf?) and Jesaiah (Swedish math-ish metalcore). Knowing Norwegian audiences there probably won't be more than 20 people watching the warm up bands though, so stupid. Mosh all night.

Has anyone seen them live with the new singer? He used to be in Centurion and was pretty good then, but I dunno what he's like in YD

Seeing them tomorrow mind so I'll find out

change thread title to UK Metalcore

band is pretty generic and cliche imo, sounds like any metalcore band mixed with comeback kid parts

Yea apparently hes sick live, fantastic stage presence.
I heard the old singer got kicked out because he wasn't Straight Edge enough.
#6
Really? I'm pretty sure they aren't straight-edge, they've got sxe members though.

I'd like to know why he left/they kicked him.

Yea, they aren't an "official" sxe band. But i think some of the members are, i do know that the singer had started to drink alot, but thats all i know.

No idea why he was kicked out, but my mates been asked to start up a new band with him

pretty much this

I dont find genericness a bad thing, at all.
If i like the style a band plays, there's nothing wrong with hearing more. Being innovative for the sake of being innovative is pointless.

in the words of Saxaxe; doesn't sound like anything i haven't heard before

Architects aren't comparable to Your Demise.
It's like saying Between The Buried And Me > Black Flag

Doesn't work. Two conflicting styles

*not that I'm comparing YD to Black Flag either haha

But they're both British, and in my opinion one of the best bands (SiKth takes that) to emerge from the UK scene.

Fine then, in that case I can go Iron Maiden > Cradle of Filth, because they're both British, and so obviously comparable in a music sense.

I'm not saying Architects aren't good, they're amazing, but I just find it silly to compare bands that aren't of the same sound.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting now, haha

EDIT: Oh, and true about SiKth! I'm still gutted they're broken up

I figured Your Demise and Architects were both hardcore/ish, therefore eligible for comparison.

Damn subgenres

Ah Your Demise...

Another band from my home town that I have next to no time for :\

Why can't a good metal band make it big from St.Albans

Yeah I guess on here they're both lumped into hardcore, I'd see Architects more tech than hardcore, but ah well haha

Because they're too busy churning out bad hardcore bands?

Best band to come out of that area? Nervous Wreck without a doubt.

An old friend of mine said wise words to me; "Music should be about making trends, not following them". This saying has stuck with me for quite some time. I'd argue that most music, even the hardcore of today, began as a spark of innovation. Just a thought as to why genericness isn't that great. Also, see: Pop music :[

I love Your Demise! One of my favourite bands, gutted that I missed them with Misery Signals. Also, I think George(old vocalist) left because he had issues with touring the US and full time in general.

See, I heard ALOT different from a friend who is good friends with George, I didn't get full details but I know for sure he was actually kicked out and didn't leave

Oh.
Well, looks like there may be some legal issues for either band in the future.

Definitely that Aus band, as they seem to be newer.
