I am not asking this because I am lazy, I am asking this because you guys have knowledge of scales that are outside of minor/major, and I want to learn those that fit what kind of music I like. Could you guys please tell me what EXOTIC scales would sound nice to use in a song that is about medieval warriors, or about a king whom died at the hands of an enemy, or a place in a fantasy world? That "medieval" sound? The kind of stuff you hear on a Hurdy Gurdy, a harp, and other folk instruments?
Thanks.

your question makes no sense
natural minor

I am asking for scales that would sound good for the music I want to write. Little-known scales that are either variations of the minor (Gypsy scale is an example), or built off the major scale.

But the natural minor or major scale would still be the most sensible choice for what you're looking to compose.
