Would it be hard for someone like me (no training) to take woodshop and build a bass body. No neck, I'd buy that, I know it's to complicated for me not knowing anything about building a bass, but just the body and to install the pickups, bridge, etc...?

if you've had experience with other carpentry type work and know how to solder and take your time, be really careful, etc. and read up on it then I don't think it would be too bad. you might wanta practice some of the harder things like the neck pocket on a scrap piece of wood a few times til you're comfortable with it before doing it for real.
