i need an interface that is compatible with protools preferbly usb 2.0

i can either go for prootools le and get a 2 input interface

or i go maudio and be able to get double the inputs

the mbox's work great with protools. protools are very picky on which interfaces it likes....thats why they came out with the protools m-powered, so itll work with maudio products...which alot of people have.

see if you can't get an educational edition mbox 2. those run for about $350 and come with pt LE, which will match with your school.

the main issue with m-powered is the cross-compatibility isn't quite as great. if you're fine with that, go for it, but you'll have a harder time upgrading your setup without doing a complete overhaul.

yeah mbox's are pretty pricey, but great interfaces. Just depends on how many inputs you want.
