Hey, so for this song I'm writing, there's a part where I take a simple 3 string power chord and alternate strum each string twice, so it'd be like CCGGC'C'GGCC (C'=C an octave up), kinda like the keyboard intro to Baba 'O Reily or this one part in Push Push (Lady Lightning) by Bang Camaro. Problem is, is that because I'm doing this for 6 bars I keep on messing up on the strumming somewhere and it never clean and consistent. Is a strumming pattern of DUDUDUDU the best approach to take here? Or should I try some type of quasi-economy picking and do something like do 2 downstrokes at the top of the chord?
I would say that alternate picking was best here. This sounds like a great exercise for it actually. You just have to slow it down and practice it to get it upto speed.
