Wait what are you asking again?
You mean pairing up two different models of SD's? Yeah, people do that a lot.
#4
i think he might mean like the sound you'd get from the middle position on a toggle but in one pickup...maybe ? i'm not really sure what he's asking.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

Or half JB half '59 in a single humbucking pickup? Question is pretty vague.

I have no clue what your asking, but if you make them, they won't be seymour duncans...

That's like saying that if you switch parts between two strats they wouldn't be strats any more............
It's when you take one of the coils of a say j.b. and use it in a custom custom for mismatched coils.

Well everyone was trying to decipher what your question was. My statement was my take on your question, and it appears I might have hit the nail on the head.

And how would you know if it wouldn't sound good? Have you tried it?

bad analogy since one thing is a brand and the other is a model. lots of people make strats. only seymour duncan makes seymour duncans.

if it was me who wanted to know i surely wouldnt ask on an entirely different forum while linking to the very thread, on a different forum, that would/could have the answer i seek. i would even perhaps consider the possibility of registering on that other forum, which hosts the tutorial for doing EXACTLY what i was asking about, to ask my question.

but again we go back to the question.
Has any one ever made hybrid seymour duncans?

yes. yes they have. in the very link you provided. i would recommend asking about it over there since that seems like it would make much more sense than asking about it over here, not because people here are less knowledgeable on the subject (because they arent) but rather because they have the tutorial, it spans many pages, and many more people over there may have tried it so you would get a much more immediate response from someone who has first hand knowledge.

I assumed that you sir would assume that i was referring to some one on this forum when i asked if any one had made one. I assumed wrong.
