So Im thinking about getting an EQ pedal because my amp can get too ice-picky sometimes. Ive heard that many people put their EQs in their effects loop, but my amp doesnt have one. How will it sound in between the guitar and amp? Does it really matter where it is?

i think they sound fine just in between guitar and amp, I usually like pedals there better because they sound rawer, but especially something like EQ should be fine

IMO an EQ is best in the FX loop so you can shape the preamp sound. It's still work in front of the amp.

-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20

well, basically it is...
when you put in in front of the amp, your EQing your guitar/pedals sound...
if you put it on the fx loop then your EQing your preamp.

traynor ygm-4. I change it up depending on volume, but usually bass on 6 and treble on 4. It only has bass and treble, thats also why i want an EQ

An EQ could work for you.
Danelectro makes a good, cheap EQ pedal.

Or get an artec eq, like 10 bucks more and tons better. But I think they are only available on ebay.
