i woke up in the middle of the night, and all at once this little picking pattern came to my mind, as i needed to write a picking pattern in the key of a minor, to replace a piece of a song that sounded too familiar with some other band. now, i've recorded the picking bit, but it just seems that everytime i write something like this it's from a famous piece already, so i'm going to let you guys check it first

the mp3 is in my profile, you can either comment here, or on my profile. i don't mind.

It takes a long time just to get this all straight.

(Not a joke answer, because of previous posts) Kind of sounds like a blend of Fade to Black, Stairway and something else that I can't quite figure out

this would cover up some of my influences, yes, but i wouldn't get sued for "sounding like"

good thing that is

Nah, not Stairway. I hear the bassline from RHCP's "Pretty Little Ditty". You know the one that Crazy Town or whatever stole for their Butterfly song.

I don't think it sounds anything like Stairway.

It sounds like House of the Rising Sun with an altered picking pattern.

Its sounds good, there is a slight hint of stairway, but nothing too much

I say make it into song

Hurt by Johnny Cash/NiN?

It's the exact same chord progression...

I think that most of the riffs people write will sound like something that's been done before
"You're a twat!"- That dude in morrisons

"You Ugly git!" - That girl in the restaurant

"You Were a Mistake!" - Mum

just a few of my fans..

You know, you made me go back and look to see if anyone actually had the user name "the pit". I do think you're right about the song though.

put the pieces back together my way
