For 350, you're not going to be getting much.

Ampeg VH140C / Randall RG100ES / Crate GX-130

Yup.

Well what exactly do you play? Depending on the tone your looking for, a Laney AOR or a Peavey VTM would be a better idea.

You don't need a stack to gig. Combos are perfectly fine.

i am in the market for a gig amp, and am almost looking exclusivly at small combos. although the stacks do look pretty cool, they are far from necessary.

+1 I'll most likely be picking up a Mark IV 1x12 combo as my next amp and it will be way more than enough for gigging.

Represent the combos!

If you are getting a cab for Christmas, what will you gig with until then?

If you tell us a bit more about the type of metal you play and possibly give us your general location or closest city we might be able to help you find a used amp that will get you more amp for yo money.

What, noone suggested the B52 AT112 yet?!?!
EDIT: Whatever the Head version is called

Can't really help you until you tell us what you're playing. Someone like Mastodon has a much different tone from someone like Machine Head.

or early Metallica vs KSE

Wow... I just got a really serious sense of Deja Vu...

diofan which Randall head and guitar did you sell?? I'm not disagreeing with you, the Spider Valves are great amps - however I personally think there are better amps on the market still.

£350????

Last of the big spenders eh?

I'd strongly suggest getting a combo if you're only spending so little, not to mention the fact that a head without a cab is useless. However if you up the head budget a little you could get one of these.
