THE RIBBON ON MY FINGER IS THE NOOSE AROUND HER NECK

She tore out pages from my Bible
To write a note reminding me
That she is the only one
I should ever be worshipping.
Like rose petals on a bed
She spread the remnants of the Word
Screaming, “Boy, your only Heaven
Is a one night stand with her.”

Tonight I’ll make you realize
Just how beautiful you are
When this Doubting Thomas
Runs his fingers through your scars

Ve geburah
Ve gedulah
Le olahm
Amen

She said, “God does not watch over me
So I don’t think he’s looking now.
When I was dying on the cross
He was nowhere to be found.”
The Gospels say that Jesus
Turned his cheek, but they forgot
To write about how much He likes
To turn his back quite a lot.

Tonight I’ll make you realize
Just how beautiful you are
When this Doubting Thomas
Runs his fingers through your scars

Ve geburah
Ve gedulah
Le olahm
Amen

My Father who art in Heaven
Said, “Stay away from devils like her”
But my God she’s like an angel
“Yeah, an angel like Lucifer”
No matter who or what she does
She can never do no wrong
Always a Virgin Mary
Never a Wh0re of Babylon

Tonight I’ll make you realize
Just how beautiful you are
When this Doubting Thomas
Runs his fingers through your scars

Ve geburah
Ve gedulah
Le olahm
Amen

Set fire to this letter
With the lust the burns your soul
This is between me and you
Not even God has to know

Take the ash upon my head and draw
A keepsake cross to remind me that
An eternity of happiness
Is just a momentary lapse

But the power and glory are yours
Now and forever

The verse(s) in the foreign language is Hebrew for "The power/The glory/Are yours/Forever". And no, I don't actually know Hebrew, I just know a few words/phrases. And yes, I have her number.

I didn't like stanza 4. I don't understand why it needed to be so forceful and opinionated. It became overly wordy as the verse progressed, as well.

I really appreciate the way you always stay "true" to the end of the piece. Even though it sometimes feels like the piece is rambling.
