well, I finally played one, and all I can say is holy ****!!!

marshall have really turned this around! I will admit, they are still welll overpriced, BUT for a Solid State they sound pretty freakin' good! The FX are still a bit... meh, but the channel function is good, the switching smooth etc. What's coming next? A good spider? maybe they'll bring out the L6 Tarantula, a massive spider which is better

not likely, but anyway, reeling with shock - a good MG!!!

I think with a good speaker and an external FX unit, this thing could really rock!

for a guy with a mofo your tonal ear seems to suck.

ive played them, and all i can say is the cleans are better, but overall they still suck.

They are improved. But no where near the standards of amps within their price range.

Ones i've played ain't too bad, wouldn't rush to replace my tube marshall stack but I'd have one for practice at least.

the spider IV is better than the new MGs, and the blackstar HT-5 far supasses them all for not much more.

erm - I feel like a bit of a twat now...
I didn't try the cleans, and I just discovered the amp was running an FX pedal

I was at my friends house, he told me to check out his new gear, I presumed he meant the amp, and he just called me and said
"what do you think of the pedal?"
I was like
"huh pedal????"

turns out somewhere behind the amp there was one of those blackstar HT-5 OD pedals - he was trying to get me to buy an MG

I have ****ty friends!

I got my sister pregnant once. Yeah, that was awkward, but mostly because she's 6 years younger than me.

the strat into artisan setup sounds awesome on its own, but with the HT pedal it is music/creativity heaven on earth.

You all are being extremely harsh. The MG is not a bad practice amp - its just highly overpriced. Outside of practice purposes it doesn't hold up, but the MG is intended to be a practice amp so you can't expect it to be anything more than that.
