Trouble is I don't have enough money and I just don't even know where to start..

I've got like $200 I could probably get a bit more, maximum maybe another $150 total.

I want a mostly clean amp, but with some drive to it too, I don't need crushing overdrive or anything, just a good light blues distortion at the most.

This is my local music stores site.. I was looking at this, any recommendations? I've heard Roland Cubes are good?

for that kinda money you don't get to choose, you'll get a 15 to 30 watt solid state amp. yes a couple will sound better than others. the cube is just as good as the others

Willing to dig for some used bargains?

If so, you'll have ten times the options...

My suggestions...

$200 - Fender Vibro Champ XD (5 watt single channel)
$300 - Fender Super Champ XD (15 watt dual channel, +$30 for the F/S)

I have the SCXD and it's a great sounding hybrid with variable voicing and limited FX/reverb/delay (DSP front end, 6V6 Class A/B power amp). The voicing changes the distortion characteristics of the amp to give you anything from Blackface cleans, Marshall crunch, scooped mids high gain, to acoustic amp.
