I may be getting a 5150 212 and I have a peavey 412 cab, will the 60 watts be able to drive the total of six 12 inch speakers? Or will it end up sounding like ****?

as long as the impedance of the amp and cab match, it will be able to drive the speakers

You can do it, 60 watts can go a long way...My guess is it would probably sound better to your ears while standing infront of it, because of an improved bass responce and clarity from more speakers... Micing wont really have any difference though, unless you mic from a far back or use a close and room mic.

I don't understand the "driving speakers" argument. An amp of any wattage will "drive" a speaker

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
