Listen, man. If I'm uhh cuttin a solo annnn and I'm getting into the higher frets is it cool if instead of putting your thumb so it is on top of the neck you tuck it behind the neck? just wondering if anyone else did this?
Freedom isn't free...

It costs like ten dollars a gram

im pretty sure i always play with my thumb on the back of the neck unless im bending or playing certain chords

ya im pretty sure that's pretty normal. I do that if i'm playing lead but put my thumb on top if i'm playing chords usually.

Thumb behind the neck for any long stretches, fast playing, and certain chords. Thumb over neck if you're bending and vibrato typically.

Yes, in fact it's better.

If I was you I would worry more about where your thumb is on lower frets...
