I'm going to NYC soon to browse some guitars and hopefully buy some in the near future. What're some of the best in NYC?
The new sam ash where manny's used to be has a nice selection. And then there's a good one across the street from that.
Btw I'm not a local of NYC or anything so addresses would be nice <_<
Rudy's FTW. Bought a Boss Blues Driver there on vacation for $25 less than sticker price. It's on 49th and 7th or something like that, iirc
the guitar center at union square (14th st) has a nice selection although they become douches when they realize youre not buying anything >.>
They don't have the biggest range in the world, and are a small independent store. But I bought my Gretsch from Matt Umanov Guitars on Bleecker Street. I'm from the UK and thought I would publicly state that they were extremely helpful and really nice guys. If you're in the market for a hollow-body then maybe check it out. It's also in a great area!
I live in NYC, Sam Ash and Guitar Center is decent. Everything else is closed down. Manny's Music is closed down, it is Sam Ash now. The recession hit us pretty hard. There are some other small stores, here and there, but nothing, no where as to close as the shops in Japan.
30th St. Guitars. I miss Manny's :[
