hey i want to start guitar and want a versatile guitar to play classic rock and a bit of metal. im gonna say that my budget is $400, nothing more, what guitar would you guys recommend?

Doesn't get any more versatile than a fender strat. But idk if that fits into budget

MIM, it looks like your a bassist and can wait a while, so if you wanna get the best strat for a decent amount of money Highway One would be the way to go.

Super strats are ugly IMO, get a HSS strat or a 3 pickup SG and replace the middle with a P-90 fit in a humbucker case.
