Dimebag (by his cool riffs and solos)
James Hetfield (for his huge gift to metal and the most classic riffs ever!)
Kirk Hammett ('cause he rips solos really damn good...)
Dave Mustaine (by his anger, awesomeness and anything he do with a guitar!)
Marty Friendman (whaat can I say? the man is a virtuosuo... he can do anything and I mean it.)

Metal is a sub-genre of metalcore since metalcore is more popular therefore better.

Not my favorites, but most influential in my thrash playing would be hanneman and hetfield.

Quick, must think of something witty... I know, Billie Joe Armstrong, thats funny, because he isn't a thrash guitarist and everyone bags on him so that means i'll be cool. Or maybe I should say the guitarists in Sunn O))) cause they're like, really slow when thrash is like really fast. Yeah, Stephen O'Malley is my favourite thrash guitarist.

I'm so witty.
