I'm new to the pedal business and was hoping someone could reccomend me a good high gain distortion pedal ?

I've got an ESP f-series 2005 with EMG active pickups and a Vox AD30w amp.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Vox AD30 is a modeling amp and probably won't take pedals well. And it already has high gain models on it, so I don't see the point of a pedal anyways.
