i played a line6 150w at the guitar store today, and i fell in love with the sound that came with the "insane" setting. does line6 make any pedals that duplicate that sound?

thanks

You're gonna need that.

EDIT: The insane setting on the line 6 spider is widely hated and thought of as digital and crappy sounding. As far as a pedal to sound like it, i'm afraid I can't help you. If you want I could recommend good distortion pedals (i.e. metal muff, hardwire TL-2).

I don't think they make any single pedals but The pod by Line 6 is a multi effects unit that does it far better than the spider.

I don't think it's possible to compress that much **** in to an FX Pedal.

But seriously, that's kind of a confusing question. I've heard a Line 6 Spider on "Insane". And to me, it just sounded like the same old crappy SS distortion you hear on every other cheap beginner amp. I don't really know what to recommend.

Has an insane setting on it.

But really, when I played a Spider, I really didnt like the insane channel. That said, what setup do you currently have right now?

They do make single stompboxes. I am a fan of their reverbs and delays somewhat.

They have a distortion pedal, uber metal pedal I think its called?

Not my cup of tea the spider, but if you like it, just buy the 15w version, its the same amp just nt as loud.

I play an esp ax-260 through a line 6 flextone 60w, with a boss metal zone im borrowing from a friend. the flextone has lots of choices, but nothing on it comes close to the spider insane.

If you have a Flextone, you really shouldnt need any other pedals, especially not a Metal Zone.

well im very picky about my tones :p, especially when it comes to distortion. that behringer actually sounds really good, and cheap. atleast in the demos. which are always better than the real thing.

oreally????

The behringer pedal was meant as a joke.
It, along with the metal zone, and the line 6 insane preset, are probably the worst distortion tones EVER.
Go to a store and crank a tube amp.

Yeah, that "insane" tone is pure bliss. You might want to sell your Flextone and get a Spider III 15 Watt or Zakk Wylde MicroStack

...eww

well here is the most important rule about modeling amps.
Distortion Pedal, sh*tty(Behringer, MT-2, UberMetal) or not WILL NOT sound good thru a modeling amp.

I think the insane setting is incredible for a purposefully bad/harsh/fuzzy tone. I miss my Spider III because of it, although it definitely isn't practical to use it as a giant fuzz pedal.
