so, me being the tone chaser that i am decided that my little Laney LG35R's distortion was not quite cutting it for metal, so i decided to invest in only the most top grade of distortion pedals and buy a Boss Metalzone pedal.

i got a call today from the music store saying my new pedal had arrived, i was out at the time so my dad generously decided to go pick it up for me.

hrrmmmm, what is this!? this box is much to large, and it has the peavey logo on it.

wait, this isn't a pedal, the silly salesman at the store gave me an amp instead.

well, i dunno, it's not really what i paid for.....

thats right, i have broken my tube virginity and bought a Peavey JSX 212 combo!

my cort got some action

(note: i would not, nor have i ever owned a metalzone)

my tone has improved dramatically since playing this amp, and i have not had time to even EQ it to my tastes. I am aware that is an active EQ, so if anyone would like to give a basic rundown of the active EQ and a good way to achieve desirable tones it would be much appreciated.

HNAD!

for the rundown of active EQ turning up/down bass turns down/up the treble a bit and vice versa. Turning up the mids turns the others down a little bit. For best results forget theres an active eq and just eq it with your ears
