and before you all have a hissy fit saying "he's not playing with emotion"...he's playing a classical piece, it's supposed to be like that. and mind you, he's 13 in this vid...name me another guitarist in history who had the abilities this kid had at the age of 13.

I already posted two videos of kids younger than him improving blues.

I am not impressed by that video.

classical pieces generally come out sounding very sterile on electric guitar usually because their lack of bends and slides. i love classical music but you can't deny this.

now classical pieces on a classical guitar is a different story.

opinions are opinions man

i watched your videos, and imo, the kid i posted is a damn better. sorry

technical ability like his at his age is unheard of. playing the blues scale with some slow bends/vibrato at his age however, is much more common.

It depends on what classical piece, really. Agreed that most performances are in fact sterile, but I haven't seen anyone play any good classical pieces, like chopin, rimsky-korsakov, gustav holst. It's basically the violin wanking of händel transfered to guitar.

The warmer tones of a classical guitar would favour the music better, alas...

That kid is awesome. TBH he sounds as good as many pro guitarists and nailed this son. SRV would be proud, I'm sure. He blows this other kid out of the water. That other kid was ok, but nothing more. If he was my age, I'd say hes decent. nothing more, nothing less.

Classical music is probably more emotive than most genres.

Anyway, he looks funny with the guitar, but he is pretty good for his age (I do not much approve of his guitar choice, but whatever tickles yer pickle). I don't think he can sing but he's eight years old so I'll give him a break. I think most flamers are jealous.
