I was shocked too.

I'm gonna have my parents adopt him and force him to pretend to be a poor African dude, then he can teach me guitar.

Sounds a lot like the break in the song Canada by Behold The Arctopus. Pretty good stuff, but I think the sound is wayy too muddy.

Above all, I can't stand that name.

It lumps them in with a lot of random-core myspace garbage, which is a disservice.

Yeah, you've got a point. But it was a very nice surprise to finally listen to the music, and be very pleased with the result. I need to get the rest of this album.

Definitely one of my favorite bands, I've listened to their S/T so often, it's great stuff.
#12
Pretty awesome, actually. I've always heard bad things about 'em, but I finally gave a listen. Cool.

It's decent, but not exactly worthy of deifying the guy who wrote it. Enjoyable in small doses. There's also a fairly big thread on this already.

I really dont see the big deal. It sounds cool, but its not mindblowing or anything. The band name, as has been said, is quite weak. To each his own I guess

When the hell did this guy join Born of Osiris?

Maybe he'll make them a lot more interesting to listen to.

That was basically Cynic minus the intersting parts.

Whoever wrote this should be arrested for plagerism.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Sorry for the necrobump, but I feel it's necessary to say that they're going on tour with BTBAM.

Tosin was never actually IN Born of Osiris, FYI. He toured with them during summer slaughter and I think briefly after that, but he was never more than a touring guitarist.
My band, Escher
My progressive rock project, Mosaic

I prefer Scale the Summit for instrumental tech metal, but good band.

It reminds me of Traced In Air mixed with some Meshuggah-isms. Haven't really listened to Gordian Knot much so I'm not sure how it compares.

Good band, but as far as the genre goes I like Cloudkicker more.

Scourge, I highly rec GK. Emergent is a must have, and its not as wanky as this

I still very much enjoy STS from time to time, can't wait to see until they improve and get some new albums out.

And this band is pretty cool, but there were really weird ass parts that had these freaky noises where it sounded like drums....
