For some reason whenever I play the 11th and 12th frets on the G string and the 17th fret on the D I get a weird volume swell from my amp. I don't think it's my bass, because it has happened with two different ones I've tried... Does anyone know what could be causing this? It's a Washburn Bad Dog amp and I'm using a Yamaha BB614 bass if that's any importance.

sounds like an EQ problem to me. How do you have your knobs set? It's possibly also from things resonating that are near your amp. That happened to me once and it took me a few days to figure it out. >.<

Yeah it could be that specific frequencies are super resonant in your room. I have this problem in my basement.
Only play what you hear. If you don’t hear anything, don’t play anything.
