So, my brother watched wayyyy to much porn and infected our computer. So we had to reformat everything. He screwed up saving my itunes library. So now I need to transfer everything that's on my ipod touch, to my itunes. How should I go about doing this? I have tried many things, and none of them work. Idump wouldn't recognize my ipod. And it has to be completely free as well, no trials or payments or anything. Thank you!

first of all mac or windows? um u may be able to authorize your ipod on that computer then sync your ipod to your itunes on that computer. If not there's a way to make it a storage device and transfer the files manually.

Do it.

Already tried it, that didn't work.

EDITS: My fatass brother made no backups. The only ones are about 3 years old. And it was my brother's porn! I would be more careful and sneaky. And PC.

You could try iDump. I don't know if it works for the Touch, but it's worth a shot.

you can try physically moving the songs and putting them in the itunes folder. You have to enable the *show hidden files and folders* and then browse your ipod's hard drive. go to any folder and go to tools > folder options > view and look through the list for that option.

Your font color is too annoying to read.
I hope it's cold, everyday, where you are.

First plug ur ipod into ur computer and see if itunes recognises it. The before it deletes all ur music set it to manual sync mode (if it already isn't). The search through ur ipod on itunes, if u can see all ur songs ther is hope, but if u can't then all hope is gone.

That's my input.

Next time, just use redtube so u don't get viruses. I got my **** down pat.

Itunes won't read the ipod properly, it says that the capacity isn't available, and my computer only reads it as a camera, and won't let me search through anything other than the photos on it.

Have you tried resetting your iPod?

Just the reset where it doesn't delete all the media. Which I can't do, because that is now the only place where the media is stored.

This is not your brother's fault. You had data that was important to you. You should have it backed up. Can't blame anyone else for not doing that simple task.

Does your new computer have a different operating system or something? Because that would mess it up a bit.

Other than that, it sounds like you're pretty boned.

EDIT: Sorry, you're red text is hard to read.

I'd try re-downloading iTunes and restarting your computer again.

Dude I'm banned so I can't post on the forums but I saw your Itunes thread and had to help. If you plug in your iPod into the computer and the PC realizes its there, you should be able to open the ipod(F: I think?) from My Computer. From there open up the hidden folder called iPod_Control. Go to the subfolder labeled Music and COPY the contents to your computer or another hard drive if you have no space. Now go on iTunes and select add folder to iTunes. Use the folder you just copied and your iPod should be on your iTunes.
