I remember the ground
Was hot and hard in Summer
When it rained, it rained in every diagonal
Drops would hit the blood-soaked terrain
And jump back up, as if for me to catch them
A blinding skyline, my ears exploded
More than once the countryside was compared
To the City of Lights, I screamed for a red cross
So loud my lungs nearly crawled up my throat -
An escape, when a face called my attention
Those blue eyes - of course
Shows me the hole in his rifle and pulls
My vision is soaked with lukewarm water
Until I wipe my eyes with my sleeve to hear
A protest of 'I got you! I got you!'
