Bass drop. Usually the drummer has a little pad thing he hits.

Is there such a thing as a heavy riff with out chugging on the e string?

Like trigger pads on bass drums? Or does he mean bass guitar?

Triggers are just things that afix to the skin, then hooked to a module, which has a "Wet/Dry" like control, Dry is the natural "boom" and slight sag you get with a bass drum, The more wet you run the signal, the more focused and clicky it gets.

And bass drops? hmm i can only think of Drum machines that can be triggerd by a drummer or someone else, or a synth with a really low oscilated filthy reese drum and bass type tone.

A bit more help would be grand TS.

true ambiguity ug style. but yes, it is a sample or synth triggered by a sequencer, trigger or keyboard. you will find versions of them on most drum patches on a keyboard.

Your drummer would need a midi pad, and price depends on where you buy it.
