Hi All,
Right now I have a Fender Deluxe Reverb 65 RI. I'm looking to upgrade the speaker so that I can get more of a Neil Young tone. Any suggestions on what would best suit my needs?

Thanks,
Lank

A new speaker will not make an enormous difference to the tone of that amp. However, an alnico-magnet speaker would be very desirable - a Jensen or a Weber, perhaps.

I've never really considered Neil Young to have a specific 'tone' - he's one of those players who sounds like himself through anything.
However, you really need P90 pickups - the sound of Neil's 'Old Black' LP is probably half of his tone.

I would agree that 1/2 of Neil's tone is his Les Paul. When recording though he only uses one amp, his 59 Fender Deluxe. I know my amp won't exactly act like his when I'm playing but I'd at least like to have a better speaker than the stock in the Deluxe Reverb.

Thanks,
Lank
