yeah im looking for a new amp and ill pay up to $2500 Australian. it needs to be capable for playing local gigs and a stack would be preferable. i play mostly metalcore and hardcore so im looking for something with heaps of gain.

any suggestions??

Willing to go used? The Aussie used market is actually pretty good at the moment.

do you have a cab?

if so i would look into something like a 6505 head, they retail at 2500 i think.

if you don't, you don't need a stack. i have a JSX 212 combo and it easily handles against my mates 5150 mkII. stacks only push more air, they are only slightly louder. maybe a 6505 combo. or look used, laney GH100L's are reasonably cheap, and they can do metal, opeth uses them i believe.

for your style of music a 5150/6505 would be ideal.

Why would you get a 6505 when there's a ENGL Ritchie Blackmore on ebay right now with a starting bid of 1900 and BIN of 2200?
Here
Oh yeah, are you planning to gig with it?
