I just bought a bass from someone and i was playing it only to find that any note on the e string is absent of the tone and punch of the other strings. Its a P-bass with basslines in it (i put those in myself) Any help is appreciated.

I actually have the same issue, but I just assumed it was because the model is a cheap, sucky one and the pick-ups are probably of inferior quality.

Thats long, especially if the person played every day, usually guitarist change strings every month. But I don't know about bass.
