the Guitar World DVDs will help a lot. Not the CDs that come with the magazine, the DVDs that are sold separately.

The thing that has helped me most with shredding and advanced techniques though is youtube. Just search for lessons.

Michael Angelo Batio dvds are amazing.
If John Petrucci and Dimebag learned from the old VHS then why can't you?

Then, since you just said it as well, so are you.

And Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci and (in quite some circumstances) Michael Angelo Batio are all good teachers, just look up some lessons of em on Youtube or buy the DVD's if you want to support the artist.

I'd, er, check out the huge sticky that says guide to all techniques. I guess that guy probably has some advice on this "shredding" thang.

Also, if that's your "current skill level" bending in tune is more important than shredding - as any "shredder" would attest.

Why has "Rock Discipline" not been mentioned?

John Petrucci: Rock Discipline

Not sure if I spelled his name right...but eh.

THIS.
Helped me out a lot..
And yes, you spelt Petrucci right
I do not want to have a signature anymore.
