I have a SG-310 and was thinking of upgrading the pickups to something that is

1. Good for rhythm guitar
2. Has nice gain but good clean

Any suggestions welcome

^^ true about the amp...

but DiMarzio Super Distortion or Super 3 (bridge)
and DiMarzio Air Norton (neck)

it really helps to know what style you play. the above is a rock setup.

Genre? Amp?
Sounds like you want a bit of versatility from rock to metal so I might suggest Wildes Probably 500XL
Or you could go to IronGear Hot Slags for higher output that retainls good definition.
I pick up my guitar and play
Just like Yesterday

T C Ellis Series 2 LP w/Skatterbrane Quiescence pups
Cort EVL-K6

i no its stupid but i have EMG 81TWs in the bridge and Seymor Duncan Alnico Pro II in the Neck

its do-able tho u just need to lower the bridge p-up and raise the neck or their will be a massive volume drop
