hello mates, at least I traded my Fame les paul for an ( I think) interesting guitar, confortable and looks killer, but I need some improvements for my guitar playing style and sound, the whole idea is to METALIZE that guitar but avoiding destroying it or EMGizing... you know.

some picks:

On a PRS? Youre aiming for a metal tone without EMGs? Put a Dimarzio D-Sonic in the bridge and a PAF Pro or Air Norton in the neck.

D-Activators are also good, theyre designed to mimic active pickups without the batteries.

how can I put a FR on it :S?

PRS trems are actually pretty good from what I hear, so the trem is fine.

This 1,000%.

Also, get some locking tuners - I prefer the planet waves ones. They're one of the few that hold the string tight and secure, but don't kill your fingers when you lock them. They also clip the strings for you so you don't have to bother with cutting. I was very satisfied with mine. They'll also help a lot with tuning and wammy stability.

I'd leave the trem. Unless you're trying to do sick dive bombs a-la 80's time machine, that trem is fine.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

the reason for avoiding EMG is the Esterile tone and the kill of balances and character of the amp and the guitar, but that pickups ( the PRS ones) are tooo clasic for thrash

Well said about the trem. It's not everyones cup of tea so don't go diving into something like that (no pun intended)

A pickup change and locking tuners would go perfect, what type of tone are you wanting? Active pickups are perfect for metal, but if you want something a little more diverse then I wouldn't go into them.

I dont want to kill the guitar character and being like everyone with EMG's tone, plus, like my amp only got one channel, I need to get diverse sounds by guitars and pedals, the wasburn has 59' and Dimebucker, the Ibby one single EMG 81... and refering to the trem, putting the locking nut wont broke the neck prepared for a standard nut? and routing the cavity wont broke the finish?......

anyways, do you like the guitar?

My old guitar teacher had them on a Ibanez RG, sounded absolutely fantastic.
Well it looks great, whether it is great I don't know

OK, I'd suggest locking tuners, first off. If the trem doesn't stay in tune, invest in a Gotoh Wilkinson trem (I prefer the VS100G).

Pickups, I'd get a Duncan Distortion and a '59.

I hope the Fame you traded for it wasn't one worth too much, that would be very saddening

I was thinkin' on locking tuners, for some trem abuse

Whoa whoa locking tuners aren't good enough to be doing serious trem abuse.

Get a Trem King TK-1. Doesn't change the tuning a bit, and you can dive down and (fly?) up.
Also, I'd say to get a nice pair of these.
Looks nice by the way.

Ahh if you EMG if then you will be making yours look alot like Nick Catanese of BLS and Speed X. His look really good with EMGs i must say.

the SEs are quite well built and really really nice

Try getting a Hipshot Tremsetter in addition to locking tuners. It will help keep your guitar in tune.

Untrue.
My guitar has a Wilkinson and a set of Sperzels, it only goes out of tune 'cause the nut is a POS (badly slotted by me, I wonder why it sucks ). Even then, it stays in tune fine except for the low E.

Trem King is a fixed bridge vibrato system, and because the saddles don't move at all, the strings do not go out of tune. The TK-1 is a drop in replacement for all strat-style trems, but in order to use it fully (Go up and down), you may need to route the cavity a bit more. It's such a nice system, I love it.
Iron Gear is like the UK's GFS- but a million times better. Super low prices, super awesome pickups. The Hot Slag is just for you I reckon.

... you want to metalise it....

You need a Bare Knuckle Nailbomb in the neck position and a Bare Knuckle Miracle Man in the bridge position.

+1 for the Hot Slags. Powerful enough so they don't ruin the tone but give you lots of options. BKP Warpigs may be a tad too hot, too much like EMGs, and pricey. I'd say, get the pups right first and then tackle any hardware issues.

That's exactly what I want for the pickups, so they're really better than GH pickups?
